Having a Break?
Who else has been running on coffee and determination recently?
Even so… what a f*cking glorious few weeks it’s been!
💤 had a sleepover with Kelly Swingler
👀 saw The Great Geek Together event venue (eek!)
🌦️ had some SUNSHINE… (let’s not mention it hasn’t lasted)
🐈 been on holibobs with the cats to unwind… IYKYK

Why Fun is a Serious Business
Anyone who knows me knows I love to have fun, and I want to have as much of it as I can – both at home and at work!
We spend 1/3rd of our lives working, so enjoying the time we spend doing it should be as much a priority as enjoying our home lives – but sadly it isn’t.
Why?
Because we don’t fully believe that having fun at work and loving our jobs is both realistic and achievable.
But I am here to tell you that it’s time to start believing!
You Can’t
Can’t was never a word in my world when I was in corporate…
BUTTTTT
…all that got me was burned TF out!
So,
❌ you can’t hate yourself well
❌ you can’t complete that to do list
❌ you can’t be everything to all people
❌ you can’t change the toxic leaders (nope, you really can’t)
✅ give yourself time and grace to repair when needed
✅ all the to do list to marinate – it’ll never get done, so let it be…
(I always used the Eisenhower matrix to force me to prioritise)
✅ realise that not everyone will like you – and that’s ok – you aren’t chocolate 😂
✅ stop trying change those leaders and focus your energy and time on those that support and value the people function
Time to Toot Your Trumpet
Now I’m not one to brag…
💖 BUT HOW FRICKIN COOL IS THIS?!?! 💖
Geeks is a cheer squad of a completely different league. I love all the love and support that is shared amongst everyone
So today, I’m bloody tooting that trumpet my friends – because something I’m passionate about, that I created is making a difference to people – and that is AWESOME!
