The Sneak Peek Dec 08 2024
F*CK This!
The tour might be over, but the fun – and the real talk – definitely isn’t! 🎉
Last week brought not one, but TWO epic moments that left me bursting with pride (or as I like to call it, proudiac arrest!).
First up, Kirsty Baggs-Morgan🌶absolutely smashed it with her Evolving HR™️ conference (seriously, have you seen the pics!?).
Then my bestie Kelly Swingler launched her incredible new book F*ck Burnout – and I got to host the event, making her laugh, cry, and feel ALL the love! 💖
But amidst all the celebrations, I’ve been thinking about my HR pals, because we’re all trying to do too much: ticking endless to-do lists, holding it together for everyone else, and somehow fixing the unfixable.
And let’s be real – none of us can be everything to everyone.
So, I’m all in for staging a mutiny… You in!?!
What if, instead of dragging ourselves to Christmas running on fumes, we showed up for the holidays with energy to spare? ✨
Culture Crush
Last week I was very excited to join Dan Dowman for the Culture Crush Meetup talking all things Beige to Brilliant!
If you haven’t heard of Culture Crush it’s a fab space to reflect, connect, and grow your network!
I love to challenge the status quo, so when I got asked to answer 3 questions that do just that, how could I say no?
OMG OMG OMG
I got to be the season 1 finale of Lea 🌈 Turner’s podcast The HoLT’s Survival Guide for Small Businesses Podcast!!
I absolutely LOVED sharing some of my story of going from beige to brilliant: because I haven’t always been the bold, brilliant, unapologetic firecracker you see before you…
Lea 🌈 Turner and I had a lot of fun with this one – I can’t wait for you all to see it!
Find this episode on YouTube or your favourite podcast app.
⚠️ But don’t listen while you’re eating/drinking. It’s a definite laughter choking hazard.

YuLife Life
I genuinely had the BEST end to my day on Wednesday at YuLife’s online event with Richard Hammond!
I got to hang out with my very lovely Geek Guest Emma Gilliver MCIPD, as well as making Lauren Berkemeyer say brilliant phrases (🤣) and meeting Tom Kerridge super fan Conor Macfarlane!!
Richard’s story about resilience through two significant crashes was fascinating, and hearing his recovery experience, as well as his thoughts on HR impact and involvement was thought-provoking.
I also managed not to boo him when he mentioned he who shall not be named. 🍆🦖 #proud
My Corner of Chaos!
Here’s what you can expect from me and my content – pinkie promise:
🐾 Laughter – You’ll laugh with me and at me, because let’s face it, HR life is way too hard to be serious all the time.
🚨 No pitch slaps here – Ever. If one shows up, send help—I’ve been kidnapped. 🤣
📚 Learning, together – I’ll always share my sources because sharing knowledge is my love language (but not my snacks 🍫).
💪 I’ve got your back – HR heroes, I’ll defend you to the death. I didn’t have a sassy advocate, so now I’m lending you my big gob instead!
🌈 No beige vibes – We’re all about colour and fun here. HR doesn’t have to mean “corporate Carol,” thank you very much!
💬 Real talk – Because let’s be honest, HR is “hucking fard” (!) and there’s no point pretending otherwise.
🐱 Cats – Yes, there will be cats. Stunt cats, even. (Fun fact: Penfold the cat, featured here, is borrowed from Rosie Parsons!)
💥 Collaboration over competition – You’ll also see me hyping up other HR rockstars. Why? Because we rise by lifting each other. 🥰
