The Sneak Peek April 2024
As ever, because I can’t bear performative support – here are some small ways you can actually support trans and non-binary people today:
🏳️⚧️ Educate yourself on peoples’ experiences
🏳️⚧️ Call out harmful behaviour
🏳️⚧️ Respect all people, not just those who fit your bias (or who you consider to be ‘passing’
🏳️⚧️ Ask for, and use pronouns
🏳️⚧️ Follow Trans and Non-binary creators
🏳️⚧️ Educate others to support and be an ally
And a few bonus tips:
💥 Don’t ask trans people to do the work for you – educate yourself first
💥 Pay trans people for work they do
💥 Apologise quickly and earnestly if you make a mistake

Be Your Authentic Self
I recently had the pleasure of giving a keynote on the topic of Authentic Self at the Actuate Global HR Summit

Introversion vs Extroversion
🚨‼️ Introversion does NOT mean ‘less than’! ‼️🚨
I’ve been doing a lot of Insights 121s so far this year, and I thought it would be helpful to share the main lightbulb moment that comes up in most of the sessions.💡💡💡
SO MANY people I work with have ‘a-ha!’ moments with the concept of introversion and extroversion…
We often ‘prize’ extroverted behaviours and think that this means confidence and leadership.
!! NEWSFLASH !!
Introversion just means that you get your energy from yourself rather than others.🔋
So, yes, you can be an introverted leader and be confident, and you can support those who are introverted in your team to deliver.
Here are some tips on how you can lead introverts. 👇🏽
Recharging the Introverts Battery
When you are introverted it’s important to make sure you refill your battery at points through the day so that you have some energy left for yourself at the end of your day🪫🔋
This might look like:
💙 having a quiet lunch break
💚 grabbing a mindful coffee
💙 putting some headphones in
💚 getting out for a nature walk
💙 taking time out to read a favourite book💝

Women Supporting Women
You’ll know by now that one of my favourite things in this world is women supporting other women, and I feel so freakin lucky to be surrounded by such an AWESOME ride-or-die squad. 💃🏼
To me this means;
❤️ ‘girl code’ of never leaving a woman in an unsafe place or with an unsafe person
🧡 supporting women in their careers with mentoring and cheerleading
💛 helping friends who’ve been SO courageous and started their own businesses
💙 complimenting the awesome things we see in other women
💚 sharing and collaborating in lifting each other up
