Micro-Moments of Magic
a short but intentional amount of time that has long-term effects on one’s growth.
(Matter inc)
If you’ve been here a while, you’ll know I’m a big fan of micro moments to grow and develop, whether they are micro acts of inclusion, self-care, or development…
So you can imagine just how delighted I was to have joined Helen Attia-Tolken at Kadence to talk how hybrid teams can make use of micro moments to build a strong company culture.
When I think of awesome micro-moments that I had with my team, we wrote thank-you notes, gave social media shoutouts, and made surprise postal deliveries (which I STILL think is my superpower…!).
Check out the full conversation and the nine key micro-moments you can use
Be The Leader You Wish Someone Had Been For You
My WHOLE biz is literally built around this premise:
🌈 People Sorted delivers awesome training and facilitation that I always wanted from suppliers, and rarely managed to get…
🌈 Find Your Awesome – Business Partner Programme was created as the training I always wanted as an HR practitioner but never seemed to find…
🌈 The HR Geek Squad is the HR networking community that I always wanted to have: a space where I could cut loose, ask questions and learn
Each and every time I start a whole new cohort of Find Your Awesome – Business Partner Programme – and even though it’s cohort 6 now, I am STILL so excited to awaken 20 new awesomers!!
❣️ What do you do now that is in existence because you never had it? ❣️
What’s Your Biggest Weakness?
Honest interview answers…
I mean, my biggest weakness IS carbs – so it’s not a lie, right?!
In my Find Your Awesome – Business Partner Programme we talk about being your authentic self in an interview and ways to get that across: I reckon this answer is acceptable, yes?!
What would be your HONEST answer to the usual interview questions?
Take your pick from the below and let me know your honest answer in the comments!
❓ what’s your biggest weakness
❓ what’s your biggest strength
❓ what do you see yourself doing in 5Y time
❓ how do your team describe you
(Also don’t get me started on interview questions… 🤣🙄)
HR-ing is BLOODY Hard
If you work in HR, it’s TOTALLY normal to:
🥺 not always be happy
🥴 feel wiped out by people
🫨 not know all the answers
🤔 question your career
😫 have tough days
🙄 run at 1,200 “Wtf?!” moments a minute
Don’t forget, HR-ing is a BLOODY hard job; you’re allowed to be human, you’re allowed to swear it out, and you’re allowed to not be sunshine and rainbows all the time!
What else do we need to normalise in our HR roles?
💔 burned out
💔 been bullied
💔 having a crap day
💔 needing recognition
💔 questioning their career and abilities
💔 done with your (or your managers) sh1t
🚨 ‼️NEWSFLASH‼️ 🚨
Your HR teams need:
❤️🩹 support
❤️🩹 time off sick
❤️🩹 understanding
